Change in Personal Care Aide Training (PCAT) Program Business Model

This is a good time to reflect upon the past year’s personal and professional goals and to make any adjustments necessary to stay on track. My goal has been, and will be for the remainder of 2018 and into 2019, to offer PCA training to the greatest number of learners I can reach and to ease the national shortage of qualified caregivers. I’ve made some business model adjustments to see this goal to fruition.

Under my new business model, I am working in collaboration with home care agencies and assisted living facilities to bring accessible PCA training to learners in diverse settings. Program delivery format can now be custom designed per institution and student demographic requirements.  So, be it in an intercity or rural location, I can accommodate student populations with a variety of user-friendly program delivery formats: in-class, on-line, or blended.  But, subject matter content and student engagement requirements  will remain the same regardless of delivery format – both will remain comprehensive and rigorous.

I will continue to focus on program enrichment, learning management system maintenance, the customization of new programs, program implementation consultation, and assume the role of lead faculty.

Please let me know of your facilities needs and how I might be of assistance in helping you reach your 2018 goals.

PCAT, LLC Receives Department of Labor Approval

I am pleased to report that the training program I have been developing for the past 12+ months has been approved by the DOL for PCA technical training.

As the population of the USA continues to grow proportionately older, caregiver job opportunities abound. But... well-trained caregivers are in very short supply. In recognition of this disparity the DOL, under The National Apprenticeship Program (AKA ApprenticeshipUSA),  has made available to enrolled employers millions of dollars for PCA training. The approved competency-based training model that PCAT offers its employer-partners consists of both theory, clinical practice, and mentorship components. This collaborative training approach between the DOL, enrolled employers and PCAT, LLC assures that future caregivers will deliver the highest level of care...skillfully, ethically and compassionately...to the elderly and disabled citizens of Nevada.

Additionally, PCAT graduates receive a National Occupational Credential from the Department of Labor. This nationally recognized credential certifies occupational proficiency, is portable and can provide a pathway to future learning and career growth.
